President Cites Massachusetts in First Major Education Address

In his first major speech on education since his inauguration, President Obama highlighted the commitment of Massachusetts to rigorous academic standards and high expectations while lauding our success in boosting student achievement. He then called on the nation to adopt a new approach to educating all students: an approach that will ensure that America’s students are prepared to become the future leaders of our global economy. President Obama’s argument and speech is closely aligned with the comprehensive strategy outlined by Governor Deval Patrick in his Education Action Agenda released in June, 2008. (more)
