Provide high quality public health testing services and support training and quality improvement in laboratory practice in hospital and private laboratories; provide rapid response capability to support infectious and environmental disease outbreak investigations, and laboratory data for surveillance and diagnosis to aid disease prevention, health promotion and health planning, policy and decision-making; provide 24/7 response to suspect and actual biologic and chemical terrorism events.
