The investigators of the Investigative Division are
charged by the provisions of M.G.L. c.138, s.56 with the responsibility
to "make all needful and appropriate investigations" for enforcing
the provisions of the laws and regulations that control the beverage alcohol
industry in Massachusetts. The members of the Investigative Division investigate
any of the over 21,000 licensees or permittees in Massachusetts to ensure
that these businesses are both structured and actually conducted in compliance
with the Liquor Control Act.
