Revenue Hearings
Consensus Revenue Hearings
Each year the Executive Office of Administration and Finance and the Legislature work with leading economists in the Commonwealth to estimate the amount of tax revenue that will likely be available for the budget in the coming fiscal year. This process is called the consensus revenue process and includes a hearing at the State House each December, where economists from the Department of Revenue, public policy groups, and academia are invited to share their expertise and estimates for the coming year with those who create the state budget.
