State Documents Online
A growing number of state publications are now available electronically, either digitized or created in digital form. These include recent documents that are published solely in electronic form and heavily-used series that have been digitized, such as Massachusetts Election Statistics and the Massachusetts Acts and Resolves.

DSpace is an open source program that is used to preserve and enable easy and open access to all types of digital content including text, images, moving images, mpegs and data sets. About 1000 documents, most from the last few years are available on the State Library's DSpace server.

This digital collection of documents contains photographs and biographical information about Massachusetts Legislators. The first publication, the Offical Gazette, was published in 1885. Older documents not only include photographs of legislators, but photographs of the Massachusetts State House and offices as well.

This digital collection of documents contains the Annual Report of Vital Statistics in the Commonwealth (Massachusetts Public Document #1). It has been published continuously since 1842, first by the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office, and since 1964 by the Department of Public Health.

This digital collection of documents contains the Annual Reports of the Attorney General (Massachusetts Public Document # 12), which has been published yearly since 1832. In addition to the Annual Reports of the Attorney General (PD 12), an eight volume set of opinions was published between 1891 and 1929. Please note that the Annual Reports for 1924-1928 are not available.

Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War is a 17 volume series published by the office of the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth. It is a compilation of records detailing soldiers and sailors that served during the Revolutionary War, listing such information as the name and age of the individual, town of residence, rank, the date and location of enlistment, areas and length of service, and date of discharge. This series was published between 1896 and 1908.

The Manual for the General Court provides information about the makeup of the General Court during each session and includes procedural rules for the Court. It also includes as facts and figures about Massachusetts and lists cities and towns with their legislative district and Representative and Senator. The original paper copies of these documents are located at the State Library of Massachusetts.
