Civil Rights
The Essex District Attorney's Office is firmly committed to the investigation and prosecution of hate crimes. We will respond promptly to any incident which potentially involves a criminal violation of an individual civil rights. The disposition of any case within our jurisdiction necessarily include consideration of the injury to the victim and the impact on the community. All civil rights investigations and criminal complaints are monitored at the Main Office of the District Attorney in Salem.
