Business Technology Services
In order to maximize taxpayer dollars and promote business efficiency, MDAA's principal fiscal mission is to manage major business technology initiatives for the District Attorneys. These technology projects, which consume over 80% of MDAA's annual state appropriation, include managing the District Attorneys' wide area network and overseeing the rollout of their case management system and their conversion to electronic document management.
MDAA plays an active role in technology matters relating to public safety, including participation in the Governor's Commission on Criminal Justice Innovation in 2004 and the Integrated Criminal Justice Information Systems (ICJIS) Planning Council created in 2005 to implement that Commission's recommendations.
