Business Counseling and Assistance

Success in business takes a lot of hard work. But in Massachusetts, government, business and academia have come together to help you succeed. Check out these resources, available online or in offices throughout the Commonwealth.

Massachusetts has a strong network of organizations ready to help you create or refine a business plan, receive technical assistance or access financing. These resources are spread throughout the Commonwealth and offer solutions for the wide spectrum of business needs.
The Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) Network provides one-to-one free comprehensive and confidential services focusing on, business growth and strategies, financing and loan assistance as well as strategic, marketing and operational analysis.

Resources for Small Businesses
Hear from the Small Business Association on how to apply for business loans, learn how to contract with the governor or find a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) near you.
To determine which business assistance center you should contact to receive services, find the town or city where your business is located. If you are not currently in business, choose the town or city where you live.
To better serve the Massachusetts small business community, the MSBDC also has outreach sites in conjunction with chambers of commerce and economic development entities.  For most small businesses this means that MSBDC services are no further than 30 minutes away. Appointments are made on a weekly or as needed basis, depending on site. Contact the appropriate regional office or outreach site for further information. In addition there is an opportunity to submit your request on-line.

Export Assistance
Learn how exporting can increase your sales and grow your business. The Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment and the Massachusetts Export Center can walk you through the exporting process.
