About the Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Small businesses represent 85% of all Massachusetts companies and employ over a quarter of the workforce. A “small” business generally means a privately held enterprise with up to 19 employees, or a sole proprietorship. Massachusetts entrepreneurs are the creators, risk takers, inventors, and leaders of our economy. These individuals and businesses demonstrate why Massachusetts really is a great place to start and grow a successful business.
Today, the Massachusetts Office of Small Business & Entrepreneurship works with the Commonwealth's many service providers of technical assistance and financing, as well as directly with small businesses to provide an atmosphere of success. We want to understand small business needs, provide appropriate programs, and advocate policy to enable growth and job creation.
Whether your business is early stage or is well established, with the right information, assistance, and training your company will have the opportunity to thrive and grow in Massachusetts.
Our web-site offers many resources for you to develop a financing or marketing plan, recruit & train employees, and register your business.
You are welcome to call the Business Resource Team (BRT) at 1-877- BIZTEAM (249-8326) or contact BRT on-line.
We look forward to working with you.
