Additional EUC Benefits: November, 9, 2009 Update
Recent legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President expanded the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Program, allowing up to 14 weeks of additional benefits for all states, with an additional 6 weeks available for high unemployment states if Congress acts to extend the program overall in 2010. Massachusetts currently qualifies as a high unemployment state. If you are still unemployed, are not eligible to establish a regular unemployment benefit claim and have exhausted the extended benefits previously available, you may be eligible for these additional benefits. If eligible, your weekly benefit amount will be the same as the amount you received previously. Due to the complex nature of the procedures required to implement the program, we anticipate some delay before benefit payments can be made. Every effort will be made to expedite payments. Visit this website for updated information about the extended benefits program.
