Secretary Bump to Hold "Regional Workforce Strategies Initiative summit" on Cape Cod with Business, Education, and Community Leaders

Thursday, November 13th, 2008--- Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Suzanne M. Bump will meet with business, community, and education leaders on Cape Cod Friday to talk about strategies to fill jobs that are in high demand on the Cape and Islands.

The regional summit meeting at Cape Cod Community College is a part of “Working Together: A Massachusetts Statewide Regional Workforce Strategies Initiative”, a program aimed at identifying region-specific solutions and partnerships to assist the employment needs of regions across the Commonwealth. The meeting is open to the public.

“This meeting is an essential part of the Patrick Administration’s commitment to strengthen our economy by aligning the Commonwealth’s workforce and education resources with the needs of workers and businesses in every region of the state,” said Secretary Bump. “This meeting will yield more effective ways to meet the needs of this vital region of Massachusetts, as well as new opportunities for workers on the Cape and Islands to gain the skills necessary to succeed in a challenging job market.”
