Media Advisory: Unemployment Insurance Teleclaim Center Will Be Closed For One Day - Saturday September 19, 2009

Boston, MA – The Division of the Unemployment Assistance’s TeleClaim Center, which processes unemployment claims, will be closed this Saturday, September 19^th. The TeleClaim Center will be closed to perform a twenty-four hour conversion process of the unemployment computer systems to meet mandatory federal regulations.

The TeleClaim Center will reopen Monday morning at 8:30am – 6:30pm for its regularly scheduled hours. Payment of benefits will not be impacted nor will the Division of Unemployment Assistance’s TeleCert or WebCert systems, which allow claimants to certify their weekly benefits. WebCert or TeleCert (617-626-6338) are both available Sundays from 7am – 10pm and Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm.

Last October, the TeleClaim Center hours were extended to Saturdays from 8:30am – 1:30pm to accommodate an increase in unemployment claims. Saturday hours will resume as usual on September 26^th.
