What you Need to Know

The Hiring Incentive Training Grant Program is open to all employers who pay into the fund. It provides a flat fee of $2,000 per employee and up to $60,000 for a 2-year period per company. This program assists in paying training costs for newly hired employees who are unemployed and do not have a call back date from their last employer.

Training Options

Employers can use a training provider of their choice if they choose to use an external trainer or they may use qualified employees of the company to conduct internal training of new hires. As a service to employers, a training directory is available if a company needs to find a training course or program.

How to Apply

Complete applications online.

A pre-screening form from each potential new-hire, included in an application, must be submitted at the time of application. Please call 1-800-252-1591 if you have difficulty with the online application process.

Companies must fax a Department of Revenue Certificate of Good Standing with the initial application, to 617-723-5594.  Application submitted without a current (less than 6 months old) Certificate of Good Standing will be denied funding.

Please call 1-800-252-1591 if you need assistance with the online application process.

Please note: Due to state budget constraints, funding for the HITG Program has been delayed until November 15, 2009.  New applications will be accepted when the HITG program is reactivated on November 16, 2009.

How to Check the Status of a Submitted Application
