CMBEN Meeting: Confessions from Local Renewable Energy Owners

The Central Massachusetts Business Environmental Network (CMBEN) will hold a meeting on Tuesday September 8, 2009 from 8:30 am - 11 am at the Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior School in Worcester, Massachusetts. The topic of the meeting is a discussion on local businesses experience with renewable energy systems. Stan Herriott of Ashburnham Municipal Light and Power, Inc. will discuss their photovoltaic solar array. Mr. Edward Reynolds from the Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School in Worcester, Massachusetts will discuss their on-site wind turbine, which is used to meet the school's electrical consumption needs. Mr. Reynolds will lead a tour of the wind facility following the presentations. A representative from the Westborough, Massachusetts school system has also been invited to discuss their geothermal well. Rick Reibstein, from OTA, will provide information about financial incentives for implementing clean energy, including federal and state tax breaks and utility subsidies. The meeting was originally scheduled to take place at the Abbott Bioresearch Center but has been rescheduled to allow meeting attendees to take a tour of the school's wind turbine facility.
