State and Local Officials Join Conservation Community to Announce Land Acquisition in Bridgewater

WHAT:

Announcement of a 230-acre land acquisition along the Taunton River in Bridgewater at a cost of $1.5 million. The acquisition is a conservation partnership between the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game, its Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, and the Wildlands Trust. The public is invited to attend.

  • Legislators and local officials
  • Representatives of Sheehan Family Foundation, Bridgewater Natural Resources Trust, Cox Foundation, and Island Foundation

WHERE:

Southern end of Auburn Street in Bridgewater, near the Taunton River

 

DIRECTIONS:

Take Route 24 South to Exit 15, Route 104 East.  Follow Rte. 104 into the center of Bridgewater; turn right onto Route 18/28 south.  Travel about 1 mile, take a left onto Flagg Street, heading east.  Flagg Street turns into Auburn Street at the intersection with Summer Street. Continue straight onto Auburn Street.  After about two miles, Auburn Street makes a sharp right turn.  Follow Auburn Street to the end where there are barricades.
