Patrick-Murray Administration Celebrates Fairhaven Boat Ramp Opening

WHAT:

Department of Fish and Game (DFG) Commissioner Mary Griffin will join state environmental officials, local legislators and town officials at Pease Park to celebrate the completion of a $409,000 boat access ramp at the Acushnet River Basin Boat Access Facility in Fairhaven. The project, which began last spring, consisted of the reconstruction of the existing parking lot, including the addition of storm water improvements and reconstruction of the stone revetment protecting the parking lot, and construction of a two-lane concrete boat ramp with accompanying boat boarding floats

DIRECTIONS:  

From Boston

Take Interstate 93 South to Route 24 South to Interstate 495 South toward Cape Cod. Follow I-495 South to Exit 1, Interstate 195 West. Follow I-195 West to Exit 18, Route 240 South (Fairhaven). Take 240 South about one mile, turn right on Route 6 West toward New Bedford. Follow Route 6 West past Fairhaven high school to a series of street lights, including lights at Main Street. Take next left after Main Street onto Middle Street; it is about 1.5 miles from Route 240 and the last turn before the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge over New Bedford Harbor. Follow less than 1/2 mile to Pease Park and boat access sign on right, opposite Pease Street.
