Grandparents Commission Listening Tour Kicks Off in Bourne
Grandparents and kin with guardianship of their grandchildren are invited to participate in the listening tour held at the Bourne Senior Center in Buzzards Bay. The Commission is also interested in hearing from other family members, health care providers, teachers, social workers and others involved in grandparent-headed families. Attendees will meet with members of the Commission to voice their concerns, ideas and needs on a range of topics, including legal obligations, physical and emotional health, education and financial concerns.

The Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren was created by the Massachusetts Legislature, with support from the Patrick Administration, to recommend policies and strategies to better serve the Commonwealth’s grandparent-headed families and will be working closely with both the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Department of Children and Families.
