Substance Abuse and Addictions Training
The Bureau of Substance Abuse Services strives to provide a comprehensive and varied calendar of trainings and other professional development opportunities to prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support service providers, along with others dealing with substance use and addictions issues across the Commonwealth. The Bureau contracts with AdCare Educational Institute, Inc., Healthcare of Southeastern MA (SPHERE), the Institute for Health and Recovery, and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling to provide training on Basic and Advanced Competencies, Evidence Based Practices, Nicotine Addiction, HIV/AIDS, Overdose Prevention, Trauma Informed Care, Family Treatment, Gambling Addiction, and more. The Bureau also partners with New England-wide workforce development and training organizations, such as the Addiction Technology Transfer Center of New England and the New England Institute of Addictions Studies.
