Fees and Renewals

Renewal of Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure

New renewal fees will apply to Registered Nurses and Licensure Practical Nurses (LPNs) whose licenses are renewed on or after May 1, 2009. The new renewal fee will be $120.00. 

Please note that a 90-day grace period will be granted to LPNs whose licenses expired on or before April 30, 2009, and who renew their license prior to July 30, 2009, only. During the grace period, the correct LPN license renewal fee is $80.00. 

Renewal of Advanced Practice Authorization

New renewal fees will apply to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses whose licenses are renewed on or after May 1, 2009. The new fee will be $180.00 and will apply to each category of advanced practice authorization: Nurse Anesthetist (NA), Nurse Midwife (NM), Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Psychiatric Nurse Mental Health Clinical Specialist (PC). 

To avoid delays, all renewals received by the Board of Registration in Nursing beginning May 1, 2009, must include the new renewal fee unless you are an LPN whose license expired on or before April 30, 2009, and you are renewing your license prior to July 30, 2009. 

Payment can made by cashier’s check, certified check, money order or personal check payable to “Commonwealth of Massachusetts.” All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
