Take the MSAR Introductory Course
Please note that the MSAR Introductory course is only available to volunteers that have completed their on-line application. Once the application is complete, each volunteer will receive a username and password which should be used to access the course.
In this course, you will learn about the different types of public health emergencies and disasters, the roles and responsibilities of MSAR volunteers, and the organizational structure of an Incident Command System (ICS). You will also gain an understanding about the MSAR activation process, how to prepare yourself and your family in the event of an emergency, and ways you can help people with disabilities and people with behavioral health needs.
Medical and nursing continuing education credits are available upon completion of the course.
Once you have completed the MSAR application, you will receive an email from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health with your course username and password. Please click on the course link below, enter your username and password and complete the MSAR Introductory course.
