State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 95 North in Danvers

 Today, Saturday August 08, 2009 at approximately 11:02 a.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Danvers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 95 North, north of Maple Street in Danvers that resulted in one fatality.

     Preliminary investigation by Trooper Julio Perez indicates that a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by a 21 year-old Lucas Haus from North Reading, who was traveling on Route 95 North in Danvers, when he lost control of his motorcycle traveling off the right side of the roadway striking several trees and then the motorcycle caught on fire.  The operator was transported to Beverly Hospital with serious injuries where he was pronounced deceased. 

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction   Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.  Danvers Fire, Danvers EMS, Danvers Police, and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

     Due to the crash investigation and vehicle removal some of the lanes on Route 95 northbound were closed for approximately 1 hour.
