State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Norfolk Streer and Route 203 (Morton Street) Boston

On August 15, 2009, at approximately 6:03 a.m. Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a one-vehicle pedestrian crash on Norfolk and Morton Street in Boston, which resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Joseph Durning indicates that a 20 year old Paul Edouard from Boston was driving a 1998 Honda Prelude north on Norfolk Street.  As the vehicle was turning left onto Morton Street the Honda traveled onto the sidewalk striking a 65 year-old Sylvester Gethers from Dorchester. Mr Gethers suffered serious injuries and was transported to Carney Hospital were he was pronounced deceased.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, Suffolk District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.  Boston Police and EMS Departments assisted Troopers at the scene.
