The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS), Highway Safety Division (HSD), announces the availability of helmets for distribution through a grant application for up to 400 units of government or not-for-profit organizations with a public purpose in 2009.
The federal funds for this program aim to help reduce bicycle, skateboard, rollerblade, and scooter related fatalities and injuries. Those serving populations of 25,000 or under will be eligible for up to 75 helmets; 25,001 to 75,000 will be eligible for up to 125 helmets; and 75,001 or over will be eligible for up to 175 helmets.NOTICE OF INTENT to award funds to the Massachusetts Department of the State Police (MSP) to educate the motoring public about the importance of safety belt use throughout the Commonwealth
