Juvenile Accountability Block Grant and Title II Formula Grant Application for Grant Funds: Secure Alternative Lockup Programs
The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Office of Grants & Research is responsible for administering the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG) and the Title II Formula Grant. The purpose of the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant is to improve the juvenile justice system by developing, adopting or improving policies and programs to reduce juvenile delinquency, improve the juvenile justice system, and increase accountability for juvenile offenders. The intention of the Formula Grant program is to improve the lives of juveniles by preventing their involvement with the juvenile justice system and to improve the operation and services provided within the juvenile justice system itself. This round of funding will go towards supporting a statewide network of Secure Alternative Lockup Programs for the safe detention of youth who are detained after arrest for alleged delinquent behavior and prior to their initial court appearance.
