- This morning, as part of his Massachusetts Recovery Plan to secure the state’s economic future, Governor Deval Patrick announced a state-federal partnership to move the Assembly Square Project in Somerville forward. Learn more here.
- This afternoon, Governor Patrick meets with Gloucester community leaders.
- Also this afternoon, the Governor will attend a legislative leadership meeting.
- This evening Governor Patrick will meet with University of Haifa President Aaron Ben-Ze'ev.

- High-Quality Public Education – Governor Patrick unveiled a proposal last week to give all children access to a world-class education by nearly tripling the number of charter school seats and granting the state greater authority to intervene in underperforming schools. It also includes the option of creating "readiness schools," which allows charter-like innovation while retaining local control. “Patrick’s proposed legislation could represent an excellent opportunity for the Commonwealth.” Read more in the Boston Globe.

Governor Patrick and state Rep. Jim Cantwell discussing construction at a business roundtable in Marshfield on Thursday.
- Economic Growth – Governor Patrick participated in a business roundtable discussion in Marshfield last week. The Governor and 30 regional town and business leaders used the meeting as an opportunity to discuss future construction projects and other spending plans in effort to create jobs and further economic growth for the Commonwealth. - National Governors Association Discussion – Governor Patrick joined a bipartisan group of governors over the weekend at a meeting of the National Governors Association in Biloxi, Mississippi. Major topics of discussion included the handling of federal stimulus dollars, infrastructure issues, and healthcare reform. - Governor of the Whole Commonwealth – Last week, Governor Patrick hosted town hall meetings in Sharon and Pembroke. Hundreds of people turned out and were able to talk directly with the Governor about the issues that matter most to them. Continuing his commitment to encourage civic engagement, Governor Patrick will host another town hall meeting at the Waterfront Park in Newburyport. This event is free and open to the public. - On Saturday morning, Governor Patrick attended the Democratic Governors Association Breakfast Meeting at Beau Rivage Hotel.
- Later Saturday morning, Governor Patrick attended an Opening Plenary Session regarding the Infrastructure Commitment, Freight Transportation, and Infrastructure Bank.
- Saturday afternoon, Governor Patrick attended the Governor-Only Lunch and Business Session at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.
- Saturday afternoon, Governor Patrick attended the Economic Development and Commerce Committee Meeting.
- On Sunday, Governor Patrick returned to Massachusetts.
