- This morning, Governor Patrick offered remarks at the Export-Import Bank Seminar at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
- Also this morning, Governor Patrick participated in the New England Ethnic Newswire Newsmaker Series at the State House.
- This afternoon, Governor Patrick met with Small Business Administration Administrator Karen Mills and small business owners and advocates at the State House.
- Later this afternoon, Governor Patrick received an honorary degree from the University of Haifa at the State House.

Governor Patrick, Mayor Driscoll and Congressman Tierney visited the site of the new Salem parking facility yesterday.
- Massachusetts Recovery – Governor Patrick visited Salem yesterday one day after he announced that the state will provide full funding to complete a commuter parking facility that is key to the region’s economic future. Governor Patrick said: "This is not a stand-alone project. It is connected to the plans for the future of downtown Salem and (the city's) future economic development." Governor Patrick noted his confidence in the local leadership, and looks forward to the economic benefits this project will bring to Salem and its surrounding communities. - Support for Local Farmers – Governor Deval Patrick yesterday announced that United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack has granted the Commonwealth’s request for federal disaster relief in 12 Massachusetts counties that suffered agricultural production losses due to this summer’s abnormally cool and rainy weather. Farms in counties declared primary natural disaster areas are now eligible for loans and other assistance from the FSA, provided that individual farms meet eligibility requirements. “I am grateful to Secretary Vilsack for granting this disaster declaration, which will give Massachusetts farmers who were affected by the rainy and cool weather we suffered this summer access to loans and other assistance,” said Governor Deval Patrick. “I would also like to thank the members of our Congressional delegation for their support of the Commonwealth’s farmers during this difficult growing season.” Learn more here.

- Honoring Nobel Prize Recipients – Yesterday, Governor Deval Patrick congratulated Doctor Jack Szostak of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital on his receipt of the 2009 Nobel Prize in medicine: “I congratulate Doctor Jack Szostak and his team on their success...Thanks to innovative thinkers like Doctor Szostak, we are leading the way to make the Commonwealth the epicenter of medical and life sciences research that will unlock long sought after cures and alleviate human suffering.” Dr. Szostak yesterday shared the 2009 Nobel Medicine Prize with the University of California’s Elizabeth Blackburn and Johns Hopkins University’s Carol Greider.
