GOVERNOR PATRICK NOMINATES LONG-TIME VETERAN OF THE FRAMINGHAM DISTRICT COURT TO CLERK MAGISTRATE

BOSTON – Wednesday, July 22, 2009 – Governor Patrick today announced the nomination of John A. DeLuca as Clerk Magistrate of the Framingham District Court, where he has served for 31 years.

“John DeLuca’s three decades of experience in the Clerk’s Office have prepared him well to serve the Framingham District Court,” Governor Patrick said.  “He knows the operations inside and out, and is deeply committed to the Court and the people it serves.”

DeLuca has served in the Framingham District Court Clerk’s Office since 1978.  He began his career as an Assistant Clerk Magistrate, before being promoted to First Assistant Clerk in charge of jury trials in 1999.  Since 2008, DeLuca has served as Acting Clerk Magistrate.  Before joining the Court, DeLuca spent one year as a general sole practitioner.

A graduate of Utica College and Suffolk University Law School, DeLuca resides in Ashland.  He is slated to fill the vacancy created by the death of the Honorable Thomas J. Begley.
