Governor's Advisory Council on Veterans' Services
The Governor's Advisory Council on Veterans' Services was created by Governor Patrick's Executive Order Number 483 in April of 2007 and works to review and assess state and federal statutes and programs relating to veterans and the delivery of services to veterans, including health care, education, housing, outreach, training and retraining.
The Council educates the people of the Commonwealth and their elected and appointed officials regarding issues of importance to the Commonwealth's veterans. The council is chaired by Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray and works closely with the Department of Veterans' Services and the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation.
In December of 2007 the Council split up into six subcommittees. These subcommittees are: Veteran Outreach, Housing, Education, Employment, Health Care, and Family Support.
