Ian Bowles, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs; Sworn in January 2007; Hometown: Falmouth, MAIan Bowles oversees the Commonwealth's six environmental, natural resource, and energy regulatory agencies - the Departments of Environmental Protection, Public Utilities, Energy Resources, Conservation & Recreation, Agriculture, and Fish & Game - on a shared mission of promoting clean energy, curbing greenhouse gas emissions, and cutting energy costs.

Under Governor Patrick's direction, Secretary Bowles has re-established Massachusetts as a national leader on the environmental challenges of our time, ranging from land conservation to global climate change.
