06.14.07 - Proposal to Ban Marriage Equality Defeated
On June 14, 2007, Legislators met in a constitutional convention to vote whether or not to endorse a ballot option to ban marriage equality in Massachusetts. Governor Patrick announced shortly after the convention that the proposal was defeated 45 to 151 and ensured hundreds of community members that marriage equality is available to all citizens of the Commonwealth.
