Governor Outlines Emergency Recovery Plan


Governor Deval PatrickJanuary 28, 2009 -- Amid a deep and unprecedented national recession, Governor Deval Patrick submitted his Fiscal Year 2010 budget proposal, which focuses on preserving core services and holds spending growth to 0.5% over current year spending.

Together with an emergency plan for closing a $1.1 billion budget gap in the current fiscal year and a series of legislative provisions, these measures comprise the Patrick-Murray Administration’s Emergency Recovery Plan, a multi-pronged strategy to help stabilize and position the Commonwealth for long-term economic success.
