Consumer Advisory: Direct Vent Gas Appliances
The Division of Professional Licensure and the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters are issuing an advisory to consumers who may have direct vent gas appliances in their house or property.
- Walk around the property and locate where these appliances vent out of the house.
- Clear any obstructions such as lawn furniture, grills, snow etc....
- During a snow storm and after the storm always clear the vent from being covered with snow.
- Install a carbon monoxide detector, one that comes equipped with battery power back up in case there is a loss of power.
