Local Housing Authorities: Chapter 200 State-Funded Public Housing
Though not supported by DVS, Chapter 200 state-funded public housing provides permanent housing to veterans.
A major source of permanent housing is the more than 13,000 units of state-funded Chapter 200 Veterans’ Housing managed by local housing authorities located statewide. Very few veterans currently live in Chapter 200 Veterans’ Housing. State tenant selection regulations have limited absolute veterans’ preference to Chapter 200 housing at this time.
