The Attorney General’s Office Fellowship Program is a successful, established program for talented new attorneys with an interest in public interest law. The Fellowship Program is designed for third-year day or fourth-year evening law students and current full-time judicial law clerks who have already received their J.D. and who do not yet have experience as a practicing attorney. The Program offers entry-level attorneys the unique opportunity to engage in the practice of law and policy in the largest public sector legal office in the Commonwealth.

Fellows receive training and supervision from experienced attorneys to enhance proficiency and develop skills while in the program. Through the Fellowship Program, new attorneys will launch their legal careers by enriching their legal experience, broadening their exposure to the public sector, and assuming substantial individual responsibility for their work. Selected fellows will be able to explore and gain experience in a variety of practice areas over the course of the two-year fellowship.  Fellows generally complete three rotations through different areas of the office.

Selected Fellows begin in September of each year. All individuals invited to participate must commit to a two-year term.  The salary is $60,000 per year.

The application period typically runs from mid-August to mid-September. Information regarding the 2019 Fellowship Program and application process will be available in the summer of 2018.
