Can my organization receive LINA funds if we currently receive another grant from the AGO?

Yes.

Are applications accepted from individual contractor/vendors?

No. Individuals are not eligible to apply. It would be permissible to submit an application under the auspices of an organization that met the eligibility criteria per the RFP. Please note, the organization would have to be the fiscal agent for the grant. (See pg 4 of the RFP:  Programs Eligible for Funding)

Can you provide a text version of the budget?

The budget may be provided in any format you wish. It is not required to use the sample budget provided on our website.

Can my organization submit more than one application?

No. Due to a large number of anticipated applicants, we ask that organizations submit proposals for only one program.

When will responses to questions be posted to the website?

When possible, responses to questions will be answered the same day or the next business day.  The complete list of questions received to date will be posted to the AGO website on a weekly basis. Please check the grant section of the AGO website regularly for updates.

Is there a strong preference to fund a program that serves service members/veterans?

Yes, per the RFP, there is a preference to fund service member/veteran focused programs. Because the funds for this grant program were derived from a settlement that directly harmed veterans, preference will be given to applicants from service member/veteran focused programs. (See page 4 of the RFP under Funding) However, the grant is open to qualified organizations in Massachusetts in their efforts to provide access to mental health treatment; and/or direct provision of mental health treatment; and/or  treatment for trauma related mental health conditions; and/or suicide prevention programs to service members and/or veterans, seniors, students, or residents with mental health conditions.

In addition to required attachments, are we permitted to include additional/optional attachments (e.g., written agreements with provider partners)?

Attachments or documents beyond what is listed in the RFP will not be reviewed. Please include any information about your program’s partners as part of your 10 page grant narrative.

Is there a match required for this grant?

No. Applicants are not required to match the grant funds.

How many organizations are you looking to fund?

As indicated on page 4 of the RFP, the AGO has allocated up to $500,000 to support this program. Based on the anticipated funding ranges, it is estimated that a range of two to three programs would be funded as applicants may request up to $250,000 over a two year grant period. However, the number of programs funded will ultimately be determined by the number of proposals received and the amounts requested and grant amounts may be higher or lower than those proposed by the applicant.

To qualify for this grant opportunity, approximately what percentage of our patient population should be veterans?

We have not established a minimum requirement regarding what percentage of an applicant’s population should be Veterans in order to apply under that category.
