All public charities doing business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts must REGISTER with the AGO and, thereafter, file annual financial reports with the Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities Division (AGO). Any charities that wish to solicit funds must also obtain a "Certificate for Solicitation" before engaging in fundraising activities.
REGISTRATION: Before commencing any operations in the Commonwealth, a determination with respect to whether your organization is a Public Charity, and thus subject to registration must be made. Thus, each organization must REGISTER with the AGO. The REGISTRATION will result in creation of an AGO File and the assignment of an AG Account Number.
