Statement of Attorney General Martha Coakley on Passage of Law Establishing the Trafficking of Methamphetamines as a Crime

“This law is a vital update to our current laws and will help combat the trafficking of this highly addictive and dangerous drug that is becoming increasingly more prevalent in our communities. We applaud the Senate for establishing the trafficking of methamphetamines as a crime, which we believe will help keep traffickers off the streets and deter others from participating in this criminal activity. We look forward to working with Chairmen Louis Kafka (D-Stoughton) and Eugene O’Flaherty (D-Chelsea) on the passage of a similar bill in the House.”
