Statement of Attorney General Martha Coakley on TSA’s Rule Change to Allow Pocket Knives on Planes

Attorney General Martha Coakley today released the following statement in response to the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) recent rule change to allow passengers to carry small pocket knives and other previously prohibited items onboard airplanes:

“Massachusetts law rightly prohibits knives from being brought on to planes. In order to better protect travelers in Massachusetts and across the country, we urge the TSA to maintain that same ban of these potentially dangerous weapons.”
