Co-founders and co-managers Gene Jacobi and Don Morgan of the Marblehead Farmers' Market

Formed in 1997, the Marblehead Farmers’ Market had all of three farmers and three craft vendors. Today it has grown to thirteen farms, seven food vendors, and an eclectic mix of purveyors who provide everything from cooking lessons to crafts to coffee. Attendance has grown from a few hundred per week to an average of over 1,000. Co-managers Don Morgan and Gene Jacobi strive to meet a triple challenge: support local agriculture, improve residents’ nutrition, and create a community-building event.
