Faces of Massachusetts Agriculture - Guidelines
Launched to honor the 150th
anniversary of the Department, the Faces of
Massachusetts Agriculture pays tribute to the rich diversity of the
Massachusetts agricultural community and recognizing the individuals,
organizations, and schools that have made and are making a significant
contribution to the long-term sustainability of agriculture in the Commonwealth.
Each person or organization is featured on our website with a photograph and a brief biographical sketch. These photographs may also be used in printed materials published by the Department, in Department presentations or exhibits, in newspapers or magazines, or through media.
Anyone who is affected by the services of the Department of Agricultural Resources or one of its divisions is appropriate to be featured as a face of Massachusetts Agriculture. This includes farmers, consumers, or people employed by businesses or organizations served by the Department. All submissions are welcome and will be considered.
Requirements
-
Photos may be conventional color prints or high-resolution digital images
supplied on disk or by e-mail. No slides, please.
-
When shooting digital images, please shoot in the highest resolution possible,
and save images in RAW format or other non-compressed format such as TIFF.
JPEG format images will be accepted if that is the only format available.
-
The person to be featured should be the main subject of the photograph.
That is, preferably the featured "face" will be the only person
in the photo; however, if other people are in the photo, they should be
in the background or otherwise not prominent. It must be clear who is being
featured.
-
Close-up photographs are preferred.
-
Appropriate contextual settings are preferred. For example, a dairy farmer
could be pictured with a cow, a farmers' market customer would be pictured
at a farmers' market, etc.
-
Each person who is the subject of the photograph, or whose property is
the subject of the photograph, must sign a release giving the Department
permission to use his or her image. A release form will be provided.
-
Each person submitting photographs must sign a Statement of Ownership and
Responsibility for the photograph(s) he or she is submitting.
Please download, print and complete the information and release form [PDF].
