Spring Gardening Symposia - Join the Western MA Master Gardeners - in celebrating our 16th year of late winter fun by attending one or more of our upcoming sessions. Programs at 3 different locations:
There are workshops for the novice gardener as well as the more experienced.
Speakers on a myriad of subjects providing practical gardening advice on
fruiting trees, berries, vegetables (including heirlooms), herbs (and creating
herbed appetizers), and even mushrooms. Once you have successfully grown
and harvested your food you will need to preserve it. For those who would
rather look at garden plants than eat them, we have workshops on garden
design, container gardens, water gardening, creating a cutting garden,
flower arranging and entire workshops dedicated to some of the belles of
the garden: roses, ferns, hostas and hydrangeas. There are workshops on
native plants, creating a certified wildlife habitat, organic lawn care
and pest control. For the more adventurous there are cutting edge topics
like growing wine grapes and home wine making, planting a living roof,
creating garden ornaments with hypertufa and making your own garden trellis.
Some locations will have book sales and raffles of garden related items.
