If you are a farmer or distributor of local products and want to sell to buyers, look into membership with the NE Produce Council. This is a group of growers, distibutors, and retailers of produce. They meet monthly in Waltham, and hold a yearly Produce Expo in Boston. The Department also participates in a New England booth at the annual National Produce Marketing Association (PMA) to promote the "Harvest New England Pavilion," and the annual New England Produce Expo in Boston. The Department uses "Massgrown" and "Mass. Made w/Pride" slogans to identify and promote Massachusetts grown and produced products. It identifies and makes consumers aware about the availability of locally grown products. It is part of our ongoing initiative to increase the demand for Massachusetts products from within and from outside the region, increase the value of Massachusetts products, and increase farm business profitability.
