The Berkshire County Mosquito Control Project was created on June 25, 1945 by the passage of Act #455 of the year 1945.
Project services include surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding and water management (hand cleaning of drainage ditches) in 7 towns in Berkshire County, including the municipalities of Clarksburg, Hinsdale, Otis, Pittsfield, Sheffield, Stockbridge, and Tyringham covering 241.4 square miles. Inspection of town resident's property is available on a call-in basis.
