2010 License and Certification Renewal Process Underway: The 2010 renewals were sent out to individuals who maintained their Massachusetts pesticide credentials in 2009 and who recertified, if required, through the Department's 2009 Recertification and Audit Process.

All 2009 Massachusetts pesticide applicator credentials, both commercial and private, expire on December 31, 2009. Pesticide applicators must maintain their Massachusetts pesticide credential every year or obtain a new license or certification through the process of re-examination.

Missing Your 2010 License and Certification Renewal Form: If you are a pesticide applicator and did not receive you 2010 Renewal Form, but did renew your 2009 Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator Credential(s) and did NOT fail to recertify through the Department's Recertification and Audit Process, than you should call or send email to request a duplicate. When calling or sending email with questions about your 2010 renewal, please provide the below information. Failure to provide the following information will delay our ability to complete a proper review of the records associated with your Massachusetts pesticicide credential(s):

  • Full Name (first name and last name)
  • Massachusetts Pesticide License Number
  • Current Address (street number; unit/apt. number; city/town; state; and zip code)
  • Telephone number where you can be reached

2010 License and Certification Renewal Fees: The fees associated with renewal of your 2010 Massachusetts pesticide credential(s) are as follows:

  • Commercial Applicator License (core) – $50 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
  • Commercial Applicator Certification - $100 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
  • Private Certification - $50 - (due no later than December 31st each calendar year)
  • Dealer License - $250 - (due no later than February 28th each calendar year)

2010 Late Renewal Interval: If you are a Massachusetts pesticide applicator and do not renew your 2010 pesticide credentials by December 31, 2009, than you will assessed a late fee. After the December 31st deadline, you may still renew your 2010 credential until June 30, 2010; however, you will be charged the applicable late fee. The late renewal fee associated with your Massachusetts pesticide credential is equivalent to the applicable exam fee for the corresponding license type and is charged in addition to the yearly renewal fee.

Did You Change Your Address in 2009: Most licenses and renewals get lost because we do not have your current address. If you did not receive your 2010 Renewal Form and in 2009 moved or otherwise changed the address whereby you receive mail, please call or send email to the above contact. It is essential that individuals maintaining a Massachusetts Pesticide Credential notify the Department when changing their address and telephone numbers. Failure to notify the Department of such changes may result in significant delays in receiving your 2010 Renewal Form and delay the issuance of your 2010 Massachusetts Pesticide Credential.

Didn't Renew Your License in 2009: The grace period from January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2009; whereby, you could still renew your 2009 Massachusetts pesticide credential, after paying both renewal and late fees, has ended. For those who did not renew their 2009 Massachusetts pesticide credentials and for those who did not recertify via the Department's audit, you will need to go through the re-examination process. This means you will be required to take the applicable State pesticide license or certification exam over. Please complete an exam registration as found in the Department’s Pesticide Exam and License Information Bulletin.

Please Note:  Massachusetts is no longer granting reciprocal licenses and you must take a Massachusetts pesticide exam and obtain a Massachusetts pesticide license in order to legally work in the Commonwealth.
