Defoliator Caterpillar Page

Parts of Massachusetts will likely experience another year of heavy caterpillar infestations.

The four caterpillar species expected to be problematic this spring/summer are listed below. Each page contains links on specific information for each of these caterpillar species.

Update May-June 2007

Parts of the state are currently experiencing heavy infestations of defoliator caterpillars. Eastern Massachusetts is being hit with a significant infestation of winter moth.
