Unlike some of our 'introduced' caterpillar pests (winter & gypsy moth) the Eastern Tent Caterpillar is a native to New England. Nonetheless, this caterpillar can still cause extensive defoliation when populations are high. Click the below links for more information on this 'native' defoliator.
