Groundwater Protection List 2008

The Groundwater Protection List refers to a list of pesticide active ingredients that could potentially impact groundwater due to their chemical characteristics and toxicological profile. Click on the active ingredient listed for more detailed information:

* Acetochlor Products (such as Harness, Surpass, TopNotch, Trophy) can not be applied without a State Limited Use permit approved by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources

The active ingredients listed above link to a table of product profiles. Pesticide Products which are aerosols, paints, baits, animals and human products and pool products are exempt from the regulations. All pesticide products which contain active ingredients on the Groundwater Protection List are Restricted Use Products. More detailed information, including tables of products containing these active ingredients, is contained on the groundwater protection list details page.


VERY IMPORTANT
If you are using any of the pesticides on the Groundwater Protection List within a town that is listed on the Zone II List , check to see if you are operating within a Zone II.
New wells can be created and new Zone II areas delineated.

NOTE: Pesticide Products which are aerosols, paints, baits, animals and human products as well as pool products are exempt from the regulations
