Effective immediately, interest rates payable pursuant to Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 79 section 37 (eminent domain), MGL c. 231 § 61 (contract actions under § 6C), and other relevant provisions that are indexed to the coupon issue yield equivalent, as determined by the United States Treasury Secretary, of the average accepted auction price for the last auction of 52-week U.S. Treasury Bills, will hereafter be indexed to an annual rate equal to the appropriate weekly average Treasury Constant Maturities 1-year yield, as published by the Federal Reserve.

This rate can be viewed on the Internet at www.federalres

Rates for prior periods can be accessed using the "Historical Data" link at the top of the Federal Reserve page.

This change is necessary because the 52-week U.S. Treasury Bill has been discontinued. We have therefore substituted a rate that would be equivalent to the yield of the 52-week Treasury Bill were it currently offered.
