Chapter 224 requires the HPC to issue its first cost trends report on or before December 31, 2013. The report will be based on the Commission’s public hearings with providers, provider organizations and insurers set to take place in the fall as well as data collected by the Center for Health Information & Analysis. The HPC will ensure the report accurately captures what consumers and providers alike are experiencing in our transforming market. It will also include recommendations to increase efficiencies and ensure providers and carriers are complying with future health care cost benchmarks set out in Chapter 224.
