DECEMBER 2014
December 1st - Small Business Purchasing Program - Webinar.  The goals of the Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP) are to increase state spending with enrolled Massachusetts-based small businesses and to provide simple and easy access to information and resources that will assist the small business community. Learn about some of the new enhancements.  Register
December 3rd - COMMBUYS Purchasing Training - Boston. This 3 1/2 hour session is designed for staff responsible for purchasing goods and/or services from Statewide and Departmental Contracts. It provides an introduction to COMMBUYS, system navigation and policy and instruction on how to purchase from Statewide or Departmental Contracts. Participants will learn to: Use COMMBUYS to search for items and/or services, create a request using a requisition document, search for specific items and/or services using a line items or a punch-out catalog, convert the approved requisition to a purchase order or bid depending on the intent of the purpose, and create change orders. December 8th - COMMBUYS Purchasing Drop-in Sessions - Boston. This 45-minute drop-in session is designed to provide guidance as you refine your Organization in COMMBUYS. We will have staff available to provide support and offer recommendations as you finalize Department and Location set-up and the configuration of workflows and approval paths. Register
December 9th - Discovering Statewide Contracts/Master Blanket Purchase Orders: Information, Demonstration & Application - Boston.  This course covers how to use Statewide Contracts and COMMBUYS. This class should be attended by all new and existing procurement and purchasing staff.  Register
December 10th - OSD Regional Briefing & Luncheon - Marlborough. This event is designed for local purchasing officials to learn about OSD Programs and Services, including a COMMBUYS demonstration, and a briefing on Statewide Contracts. Buyers will also have a chance to interact with their local vendor community over lunch - and perhaps get to know them better.  Register
December 11th - COMMBUYS Organization Administrator Training - Boston.  This is an intensive all-day class for those identified as Organization Administrators in the COMMBUYS system. Organizational Administrator training provides an in-depth review of and hands-on practice with COMMBUYS including the Organization information, approval, workflow and user profile set-up activities. Upon completion of this training, Organization Administrators will be prepared to fulfill their roles in COMMBUYS, including set-up activities and maintenance tasks.  Register
December 12th - Essentials of State Procurement -Boston.  Learn how to search for a commodity or service; how to properly and efficiently utilize Statewide Contracts; and how to conduct your department's own procurements. This is an all day class.  Register
December 15th - COMMBUYS Procurement Training - Boston. This all day session is recommended for staff with the responsibility of conducting procurements for goods and/or services not available on a Statewide contract. The class will cover: the creation of a bid, the use of templates, how to manage attachments, online bid evaluation and contract award, and posting awarded contracts online in COMMBUYS. Register

December 16th - Connecting Your Business to the Commonwealth - Boston.  This workshop is designed for businesses who are interested in learning how to do business with the state.  This workshop includes: An Overview of OSD Programs and Services including, State and Federal Certification, Supplier Diversity Program (SDP), Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP), and a live demonstration of where to find bidding opportunities in COMMBUYS.  Attendees will also learn about the Statewide and Departmental Contracting procurement process and marketing to public entities.  Register

April 29-30, 2015 - MASSbuys EXPO - DCU Center, Worcester, MA.  This annual business to government event is open to vendors on a Statewide Contract.  Exhibitor registration will open in January.
